Rada: A Sculpted Memory

In the heart of Casa Nabo', amidst the warm familiarity of family life, a unique cat named Rada captured the heart of sculptor Crisboinn. A second-generation descendant of the beloved mother Carlotta, Rada is a gentle muse with a subtle charm that resonated deeply with the artist. Crisboinn did not simply seek to replicate Rada's physical form, but to "sculpt the sensitivity" he perceived within her. He aimed to capture the essence of her being, the quiet grace that made her so special. Starting with only a light pencil stroke, a memory sketched from the heart, he embarked on a journey of creation. Unlike a traditional portrait, Crisboinn's Rada is a study of geometric abstraction. The head is a stylised triangle, the ears sharp peaks and the body is composed of distinct and angular planes. This deliberate use of geometry is a hallmark of Crisboinn's work, a language he employs to convey structure, depth, and a sense of timelessness.

The black graphite, matte and deep, forms the base of the sculpture, giving it a sense of solidity and permanence. But it's the glitter, applied to the central plane of her body, that truly brings Rada to life. They catch the light, creating a sparkling, almost ethereal effect, hinting at the playful spirit that Crisboinn loved so much. This contrast between the dark, grounded graphite and the sparkling, luminous glitter perfectly encapsulates the duality of Rada's nature: grounded yet sparkling, serene yet playful.

Crisboinn's Rada is more than just a sculpture; it's a memory made tangible. It's a testament to the power of human art to abstract not just a likeness, but the very soul of a beloved companion.
