Achi: An Ode to Duality

Born after Andy, Achi emerges as a unique entity. His birth is not marked by marble hair like his brother but by a crown of vibrant green leaves, a hymn to life reaching for the sun. But his singularity does not stop here. His body, an alchemical fusion of sparkling pyrite and burnished brass, evokes a symphony of contrasts, a bridge between the enduring strength of the earth and the malleable art of humanity.

Pyrite, with its mystical aura, represents the deep and indissoluble connection with the earth, the echo of an ancient power that pulses beneath our feet. It is the wild and primordial spirit, a force that has withstood the test of centuries. Brass, on the other hand, embodies the potential for change, creation, and the ability to shape dreams into reality. It is the symbol of human ingenuity, the aptitude to model and transform, to infuse beauty into the world.

Achi, with his crown of living leaves and his dual body, is the incarnation of this dichotomy, a living paradox that testifies to the interconnection of all things.

Cris Boinn has been able to capture the essence of Achi. The two halves, far from being separate, intertwine in a harmonious embrace, just as the sculpture itself wants to be a symbol of harmony between nature and humanity; a hymn to balance.

Achi, a bridge between the earth and the dreams of humanity, is an invitation to reflect on our relationship with the world around us.
